
Wesleyan College Alumnae Magazine | Annual Publication
The 2024 Wesleyan Alumnae Magazine is the college’s flagship annual print publication dedicated to sharing stories from students, alumnae, and the Wesleyan community. This issue covered a wide range of content—from presidential milestones and academic updates to alumnae spotlights and donor recognition—presented in a clean, engaging layout.
As the designer, I focused on layout clarity, brand consistency, and strategic visual pacing. I worked closely with the Alumnae Affairs and Communications teams to develop a print piece that feels both elevated and welcoming, balancing legacy with fresh energy.

The magazine opens with a presidential letter and a clean contents page that sets the tone for the publication. This section establishes credibility while offering a welcoming introduction to the year’s stories.
A clean grid system and generous margins were used to allow typography and photography to breathe. Subtle visual cues and hierarchy support skimmability while reinforcing trust.
To ground the reader in Wesleyan’s mission and identity while creating a strong first impression of the design and editorial voice.
This section highlights key achievements in the Wesleyan community—both within campus and beyond. The content includes academic success, leadership milestones, and evolving traditions.
Photography was used generously, and layouts were designed to keep visual rhythm through varying column structures. Pull quotes and callouts guide the eye and emphasize the human element.
To celebrate the accomplishments of students and staff while creating a narrative of growth and inspiration.
These spreads capture the heart of the Wesleyan alumnae network and the lifelong sense of belonging it fosters. The editorial tone here becomes more nostalgic and personal.
Layouts include both structured storytelling and scrapbook-style collages to add warmth. Diverse image crops and textures add dimension while staying on brand.
To deepen the emotional connection for alumnae readers, showing the enduring value of their Wesleyan experience.
This section acknowledges the support of Wesleyan’s donors, emphasizing their direct impact on students and the college’s future.
Design was kept clear and respectful, with typographic consistency and visual cues for easy scanning. Data was integrated into simple visual formats where needed.
To honor alumnae and supporters in a polished, dignified way that encourages future giving and engagement.
Designing this issue required balancing heritage with forward-thinking design. Throughout the publication, I used typography, layout, and photography to bring stories to life while upholding the Wesleyan brand.
